IFFD at 19th Family Business National Congress

IFFD participated as a speaker at the 19th Family Business National Congress, organized by the Spanish Family Business Institute IEF (Instituto Empresa Familiar). The event took place in La Coruña, Spain, on October 16, 17 & 18, and was officially opened by HRH King Felipe of Spain. Each year, the congress brings together all the most important Spanish family businesses, including Inditex and Banco Santander, among others. IFFD has had the honour of being one of the few organizations not related this business area to take part in one of their congresses. The IFFD programs in Nigeria are proving to be very successful. In September, a new moderator training program took place, with 34 moderators. NAFAD, the Nigerian Association for Family Development, which coordinates IFFD programs in Nigeria, is currently carrying out courses in the cities of Lagos, Benin, Abuja and Enugu. United States, from coast to coast

In recent weeks, a moderators’ convention has taken place, Texas Family Enrichment has been launched, and a new Adolescents program has started in Los Angeles. Family Enrichment New York held its annual convention – LIFE (Leadership Initiative for Family Enrichment) – in IESE Manhattan on October 1. Training was given on the case study methodology and on the role of the coordinators in small-group discussions. Around 25 participants from the metropolitan area of New York, Washington D.C., Boston and Texas took part. In September, Texas Family Enrichment was set up. This organization will coordinate IFFD programs in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. According to its rapporteur, Juan Vicente Herrera Campo (President of the Regional Government of Castille and Leon in Spain), “key competences in areas like, employment, participation in society and independent living that should be used to develop appropriate responses.
