IFFD
For policymakers and organizations
IFFD advocates for a family perspective in policymaking as the most effective strategy for social development worldwide. Grounded in scientific evidence and a commitment to sustainable progress, we work to:
Identifying ways to strengthen and support family life through legislation in 68 countries
Promote academic research and expert networks to strengthen family oriented policies
Recommend evidence-based policies and good practices that support families as the foundation of society
Raise awareness of the family’s critical role in fostering social stability, economic participation and child protection
Our representatives bridge the gap between Member States, academia, the UN system, civil society, and families themselves—ensuring that policies prioritize family strengthening as a key driver of social development. We engage in high-level advocacy at the United Nations (New York), the European Union (Brussels), and other intergovernmental institutions,
UN Agencies
(ECOSOC, UNICEF, UN HABITAT) on family oriented policy design
The European Union
through research, advocacy, and dialogue
Governments and civil society
to implement locally tailored, family-oriented policy recommendations
Our impact is expressed in different outcomes:
