This year’s IFFD Briefing, one of the most important events organized by IFFD Family Perspective, focused on the topic of parenting in the digital age with an event entitled “Parenting in the Digital Age – Policymaker’s perspective”. It was held with the collaboration of UN DESA and the Permanent Missions of Malaysia and the State of Qatar. It also included the participation of the Permanent Mission of Austria, the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation of the OECD, the UNICEF Office of Research Innocenti and Common Sense Media.
The event focused on how policymakers can help parents and families to develop character and cyber-wisdom in their children. At the same time, it spurred parents’ proactivity in seeking to cultivate values, qualities and skills in their children.
In addition, the IFFD Family Awards were presented at the same event. This year’s winners were the Austrian State Government of Carinthia and Tom Harrison, author of the book “THRIVE: How to Cultivate Character So Your Children Can Flourish Online”.
