IFFD Family Perspective hosted a virtual side event during the 54th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development titled “Family Support Services and Impact of the Coronavirus Disease on Food Security, Nutrition and Well-Being”. The event focused on presenting the study findings of the report “Looking Beyond COVID-19: Strengthening the role of Family support Services” elaborated by the OECD, an intergovernmental economic organization founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
The opening remarks were made by Nora Urrea, Vice President of IFFD; the presentation of the OECD Study Findings were made by Olivier Thévenon, Head of Child Well-Being Unit at the OECD WISE Centre; and the closing remarks were made by Olivier Yao, global President of IFFD.
Additionally, Maria Paula de Albuquerque, Clinical General Manager at CREN, made remarks about her presentation “The Investment in Assistance, Research and Training to Fight Hunger” and Isabelle Pypaert Perrin, Director-General of the International Movement ATD Fourth World, about her exposition “In Times of Crisis, Valuing and Strengthening the Responses of Families Living in Poverty”.
