Launching IFFD programs in Ghana
After a long struggle to achieve the appropriate conditions for launching IFFD programs in Ghana, eventually the first promotional session of IFFD program ‘Married Love’ took place in Accra, on Sunday November 12.

15th National Conference in Nigeria
On November 3, the Nigerian Association for Family Development (NAFAD), coordinator of IFFD courses in that country, held its 15th National Conference for moderators in Owerri, Eastern Nigeria.

Celebrating the World Cities Day, October 31, IFFD co-organized and took part on the event Accessible Cities United, Enabling future cities to be smart.
Training for young people in Canada
Family Enrichment Toronto is lauching the IFFD’s Program Personal Project, a course designed for singles in their 20s and early 30s.
Training in Zürich
On September 23 & 24, a moderator training course took place in Zürich. Around 27 people took part in the theoretical and practical sessions on moderating IFFD’s programs using the case study methodology, as part of their training for the setting up of new Family Enrichment courses in the near future.
Family Day in Kazakhstan
September 3 was the Day of the Family in Kazakhstan. The city of Almaty organized a family fair in collaboration with the different associations who work on family matters.

A focus on deprivation is fundamental to human development. Poverty is multifaceted and thus multidimensional. The dimensions of poverty go far beyond inadequate income.
XX International Family Congress
London, October 18-20, 2019
IFFD will hold the twentieth edition of its International Family Congress from October 18-20, 2019 at the “QEII Centre” in London.
IFFD in the General Assembly of the United Nations
IFFD took part in different events held in New York as part of the 72nd period of sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations, which was inaugurated on September 12th
The Netherlands
On September 2-3, several training sessions were held in Amsterdam. Leticia Rodríguez, director of Family Enrichment for IFFD, and Will Van Erp, director of Family Enrichment in the Netherlands, delivered a course to train new moderators.
IFFD Paper 67. Families and sustainable societies
Our project has been designed to generate comparative, in-depth, and scientifically grounded knowledge about family changes in Europe, their causes, and their consequences.
2nd Edition of Family Enrichment Holidays
IFFD organized in July the second edition of Family Enrichment Holidays (FEH 2017), establishing its position as a very important event for the training of international moderators and the promotion of IFFD courses, particularly in European countries. Nineteen families took part in this edition, from Family Enrichment centers in 13 countries on 4 continents
First “Family Summer” in Slovakia
The first “Family Summer” took place from July 30 to August 6 in the holiday park “Orava” in the north of Slovakia, surrounded by beautiful mountains, with 20 families from Slovakia taking part (91 people in total).
Publication on intergenerational relationships
The texts from the presentations and talks at the event “Intergenerational relations in an ageing world” are compiled in this publication.
IFFD Paper 66. Families in a changing society
The major trends regarding family patterns and structures over the past decades are well known in terms of delayed partnership formation, postponement of childbearing, low fertility, increasing prevalence of less committed relationships, high separation and divorce rates, increasing family diversity.
Summer University on the Family in Hungary.
The Hungarian Association for Large Families organized its first Summer University on family issues in Budapest, on July 10-14.
Family and sustainable development in Africa
The first International Conference about Family and Sustainable Development in Nigeria was celebrated in Lagos on June 28, on “Achieving the Educational Perspective”.
IFFD Paper 65. An often untapped potential
This year’s observance of the International Day of Families focused on the role of families and family oriented policies in promoting education and overall well being of their members. In particular, the Day raised awareness of the role of families in promoting early childhood education and lifelong learning opportunities for children and youth.
Training session for moderators in Poland
Akademia Familijna organized at the end of May a training session for moderators and team leaders in Krakow, bringing together 70 people from 4 cities in the south of the country.
Mexico. LAR Convention
LAR Convention. The LAR Association held its 8th National Convention in Aguascalientes on May 19-21, with the title “United parents, strong children”
“First Steps” course in Slovenia
The first “First Steps” course in Ljubljana has taken place, with 18 families participating.
National IBF Congress in Brazil
“Family: the foundation for sustainable development” was the title of the 2nd National Congress on Family Enrichment, held on April 29-30 in the “Instituto Biológico de São Paulo”.

The opening session of the second Global Meeting of SDGs & Families Project, held in San Jose on 23-25 May, was inaugurated by the President of the Parliament of Costa Rica, Mr. Gonzalo Ramírez Zamora

That is why we have to respond together, for the women domestic workers who globally do two and a half times as much unpaid work as men. And for the nearly one billion women who will enter the global economy in the next decade.

A booklet with policy recommendations and other interesting resources has been published by the FamiliesAndSocietes project and is being distributed to the different entities in the European Union, United Nations and other international bodies.
National convention in Portugal
CENOFA, the association which coordinates IFFD’s courses in Portugal, held a national meeting in Fatima on April 1, which brought together moderators and promotors of IFFD courses from from Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto, Braga, Tomar, Guimarães and Viseu.
