Event on Intergenerational Relations at the UN
The Hungarian Mission to the United Nations, in collaboration with the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD), hosted the full-house side event entitled ‘Intergenerational relations in an ageing world’ on 4 April 2017, on the occasion of the 50th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development.
IFFD Paper 63. Getting bigger or getting better?
What is the relation between development, expansion, prosperity and education? A superficial reading of the 2030 Agenda can give the impression that eradicating poverty is what really matters, as if sustainability had to do only with the present generation.
IFFD Spain Summit 2017
Madrid was once again the setting for the IFFD Spain Summit, the annual meeting of Family Enrichment coordinators and moderators of IFFD courses from all around the country.
Fist Steps in Belarus
On March 11, the second session of the IFFD program First Steps was held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. This course for parents with children from 0 to 3 years started on January 28 with a group of seven enthusiastic families.
Expanding in Lebanon
A new program has been launched in a new Lebanese town. IFFD course coordinators in Lebanon started the program “First Decisions” in Jounieh, a coastal city about 16 km north of Beirut.

Unpaid work is apt to be overlooked in economic valuations but holds great worth for individuals and society and can be a source of joy and fulfillment for many.
European Meeting for Family Enrichment Leaders in Paris
IFFD held a meeting with the European coordinators of Family Enrichment courses in Paris on Saturday, February 18th, 2017. Around 200 people, including directors, moderators and collaborators of Family Enrichment courses from 24 European countries and 3 invited Asian countries (Israel, Kazakhstan and Lebanon) took part in the meeting.

Award for IFFD

New courses in The Netherlands
Two Marital Love courses have started in the cities of Amsterdam and Brabant, and another Marital Love course will start in Maastricht in January.
IFFD at the World Family Summit 2016
Ignacio SocÃas, Director of Institutional Relations for IFFD, attended the World Family Summit, which was held in São Paulo from December 4-7, 2016, with the title ‘Balanced families: eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity, ensuring that no family is left behind’.
SDGs & Families (Global Project)
The first Global Meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals and Families Project, promoted by IFFD, was held in Barcelona on November 10-11, with experts from the five continents.
Conference on ‘Family and Children’s and Rights’
Ignacio SocÃas, Director of Institutional Relations for IFFD, took part as an expert on the family at the 4th International Family Conference on ‘Family and Children’s Rights’, held on November 19-20 in Abuja, and organized by UFUK Dialog Foundation in Nigeria.
Spain
A new First Steps Family Enrichment course started in Alcala de Henares, Madrid. More than 30 young parents took part in the first training session, which was held on November 18.
Training in Hong Kong
A one-day moderator training course was held in Hong Kong in early September 2016. About 75 people attended the course which was divided into four teams: one English-speaking, one Mandarin-speaking and two Chinese-Cantonese-speaking.
Pilot program in Korea
On October 29, the first IFFD course in Korea began, in the city of Seoul. The course in question is a pilot course for the First Steps program, which will be delivered with the help of national and international experts. IFFD is very excited about this new project.

On November 6, two groups of parents were very excited to start First Steps and First Letters programs in Dublin.
Croatia
On October 23, IFFD carried out a Personal Project training session in Zagreb, with around 20 moderators, two of whom travelled from Slovenia to take part.
Expansion in Mexico
A new LAR has been set up for the city of León. Additionally, two moderator training courses were held on October 15 & 16 in Mexico City and in the city of Hermosillo

The Final Conference of the FP7 EU Project FamiliesAndSocieties has been held in Brussels on 18 October.
