If you’re wondering what to do next summer, in Colorado you have the perfect plan: Family Summer! It will take place from July 29 to August 6 and registration is already open at www.familysummer.org.
This program combines holidays with training for parents. In the mornings, parents take part in a family enrichment course that includes four cases on marital communication, authority, strengthening the will and leisure. While this is taking place, the children, divided into groups and led by counselors, take part in their own summer camp that includes fun outdoor games, hiking, swimming, etc. Afternoons are spent enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains: hiking, horseback riding, rafting, canoeing and relaxing by the pool. Most families participate in the evening activities, like bingo, FS’s Got Talent, kids show, etc.
Last year, Family Summer took place between July 30 – August 7, 2016. Thirty-two families, 185 people in total, from 7 states participated in it. There was a great atmosphere and everyone loved spending time with their families in such a beautiful environment, as well as having the opportunity to get to know other families. Many of the families had never participated in family enrichment courses before and were delighted with the program and the case study method. Family Summer is an incredible experience for people of all ages.
